Mission Statement
At the Pleasant Street Neighborhood Network Center, our mission is to be an agent for positive and collective change through community organizing in the Pleasant/Piedmont area of Worcester. We aim to promote unity, empowerment, and access to education, as well as other resources and opportunities in our community and beyond.
History of P.S.N.N.C.
In response to a longstanding and systemic lack of services, resources and opportunities in the Pleasant-Piedmont neighborhoods of Worcester, a grassroots resident-led coalition of neighborhood groups and organizations founded PSNNC in 1997.
Our 25 years of successful organizing and action have been possible because of numerous community members who have emerged as leaders alongside our Executive Directors throughout the Center’s history. We intend to continue recruiting individuals with interest and relevant experience to work with our next Lead Organizer to develop future initiatives. Our view remains that leaders already exist in the community, and our job has always been to create opportunities to expand their capacities.
